SCDC provides the unique balance of sports, non-competitive activities, creative arts, & cultural opportunities so children have a complete & well rounded summer experience.
A typical camp day begins when the campers arrive & go to their designated bunk to be greeted by their counselors & friends. Every morning begins with an all camp assembly at the flagpole for the raising of the American flag. The morning program consists of 4 periods, one of which is always Instructional Swim. Another period will be a field/sport activity, specialty program (gymnastics, music, archery, dance, ropes course, arts & crafts, tennis, Native American), bunk choice or any one of the many fun & exciting activities we offer. Your children will have ample opportunity to rest between activities, with frequent water breaks & slower paced activities in the shady part of camp.
After lunch and rest, the campers enjoy a Free Play period where they choose a favorite activity to participate in, followed by the much anticipated ice cream break and a fun, general swim. After the final period of the day the entire camp reassembles at the flagpole area for the lowering of the flag before heading home.
Every day is different at SCDC & your youngster will “touch all the bases” during their stay with us whether they attend for 2 weeks or the whole season. At SCDC your children will have an active & enriching experience – every camper is encouraged by the staff, & fellow campers, which leads to healthy participation. Our priority is insuring that each child leaves Sharon Country Day feeling good about themselves and their accomplishments.
With teamwork, leadership, & sportsmanship as our core values, rest assured that your children will gain self confidence, learn new skills, & will have memories & friendships that last a lifetime!
