SCDC Difference

Healthy and Active Participation

Every child is made to feel special at SCDC. Our primary goal is to ensure that your child succeeds and develops self confidence. All children are encouraged to participate, and be physically active, in both healthy competitive and non-competitive activities while having fun. Each camper is supported by our mature and competent staff who go through an extensive pre camp orientation and training, during which they learn the needs of each individual child in their grouping. Our staff , along with the Directors, are there every step of the way, to oversee your child’s progress and to make sure your child is having a great time and truly feels a part of the SCDC “family.”

As children become more confident, we see something click. They are more willing to try new activities and face new challenges. This philosophy leads to a positive self-image & teaches children how to be part of a team while displaying good sportsmanship – something we feel can be missed in many sports programs. At the end of the season, each and every camper is recognized and awarded for their success and accomplishments, which leaves them feeling good about themselves as they prepare for the new school year. You can be assured that your child will leave camp with new skills, new friends, and memories that will last a lifetime. They will , no doubt, be counting the days until next summer!

Unique Activities

You will find that SCDC offers unique programming. Your child will experience all of the traditional summer activities (please see our Activities List) however, they will also have the opportunity to participate in programs that only Sharon Country Day offers- those that nurture creative development and an awareness of their environment including: Native American Culture and Wildlife Discovery, Color Games, Aqua Zip Line, Overnights, Camp Newspaper, and Musical Theatre productions performed before the entire camp community. We believe these programs develop well rounded campers who not only participate in sports, but also learn to appreciate the creative arts as well as their natural surroundings.

We encourage you to watch our videos, read the testimonials, and hear directly from some of our families who have been a part of the Sharon Country Day experience. Please join the SCDC family as we celebrate our commemorative 50th year!
