Our Kiddie Camp Program is for children from ages 4 to young 5.
Dates available are June 27th through August 19th, 2011
Hours are Full Day: 8:30 a.m. to 4 p.m $75.00 per day
Half Day: 8:30 a.m. to 1:00 p.m. $50.00 per day
Extended Hours: Late pick-up to 5:30 p.m. available for an extra charge
Enrollment is for 3, 4, or 5 days per week, for a minimum of 2 consectutive weeks to allow for continuity in program planning. You may sign up for as many weeks as you like as long as openings are available. Enrollment is limited & preference is given to families who attended the Kiddie Camp during the summer of 2010.
Deposit is credited toward tuition, which is payable in advance.
No refunds will be made for absences. Due to limited daily enrollment, there can be no substitution for absent days.
PHILOSOPHY: We want our campers to be active participants, learn new skills, have a sense of belonging & security and to acquire confidence and self-esteem. We also believe in the importance of special friendships and memorable times – at Sharon Country Day, “We Are Family.”
PROGRAM: These young campers are exposed to, and participate in, a wide variety of activities, geared specifically to their age and capabilities including: swimming, arts & crafts, music, dance, games &relays, Audubon Arc, Native American, gymnastics, & beginning skill development in soccer, t ball,kickball, basketball, & newcombe.
DAILY RED CROSS INSTRUCTIONAL SWIM: The children are taught by our Red Cross Certified Waterfront Safety Instructors and Lifeguards, who are supervised by Stuart Hershman, the Waterfront Director. The swimming area is very safe with a sandy bottom and designated for beginner & non swimmers. There are Red Cross swim instructors, Lifeguards, and Kiddie Camp staff present at all times with the children during their swim.
GENERAL SWIM (Full Day children) A fun, non instructional swimming period, supervised by Red Cross Instructors/lifeguards & Kiddie Camp Staff, in a separate area for beginners/non swimmers.
FACILITIES: Sharon Country Day Camp is located on 30 acres of woodlands, nature trails, playing fieldsand a beautiful spring fed pond. The children have their own special facilities & play areas including a basketball court, soccer field, t ball area and playground. Their “home away from home” is a large spacious cabin, with screened picture windows & individual cubbies for their belongings. Adjacent to their cabin are picnic tables, for lunch & their mid afternoon ice cream break, in a lovely tree shaded area of the camp.
STAFF: We employ mature, qualified Unit Leaders & assistants who share a love of children & the ability to understand their needs.(Over 50% of our staff are former campers). They are with the children from the moment they arrive in camp until it is time to go home. Staff ratio is a minimum of 1 counselor to 3 campers. *Registered Nurse available at all times. Charlie Hershman, Owner/Director of Sharon Country Day Camp, & Rhonda Hershman Jermyn, CoDirector, are responsible for overall programming and supervision of Kiddie Camp. There is a 10% discount for more than one child in a family or if a sibling attends Sharon Country Day Camp.
